"Welcome to the Land of
Enchantment", New Mexico! This 160,000 acre prime ranch
is located in NE New Mexico just outside of Raton. This area
of New Mexico has some of the largest and best hunting ranches in the
West.
There are resident herds of elk, deer and antelope. Flocks of
turkey, the cinnamon color phase of the black bear and
mountain lion all inhabit the ranch. The highest quality of
big game trophies come out of the area due to Mt. Capulin (a volcano) that
erupted several million years ago spreading lava and ash flows across the
ranch. Over the years, mother nature has covered these flows with
several types of native grasses, which, because of the minerals produced
in the lava, produce big racks.
The terrain of the T O Ranch varies greatly. Elevation at
headquarters is 6,500 ft and the beginning of the high plains which run
South and East for miles. To the North and West the T O Ranch gains
in elevations and the topography changes into mountain country.
Ponderosa Pines, Oak Brush and Mountain Mahogany provide the habitat to
produce the trophy you are looking for. The top of the T O Ranch is
Johnson Mesa reaching an elevation of 9,500 ft. A variety of habitat
is what make the T O Ranch a special place, with a variety of big game to
choose from.
The facilities at the T O Ranch consist of a modern camp house with 8
private bedrooms, showers, etc. making it perfect for couples or groups of
hunters.
The trophy quality on the T O Ranch is excellent. Bull elk range in
size from 300 to 375 B&C, mule deer bucks 160 to 200 B&C and
antelope bucks 76 to 84 B&C.
The T O Ranch is under new ownership that has not only drastically reduced
the number of cattle grazing, but will also be implementing other game
management programs to further increase the number and quality of big game
animals on the ranch.
All licenses in New Mexico for hunting any species on the T O Ranch are
guaranteed. NO drawing and NO hassle. Numerous
opportunities exist for combination hunts.
Clients that need to fly in to the area have 3 commercial airports within
a 3 to 4 hour drive of the ranch, Colorado Springs, Albuquerque and
Amarillo. Any private planes or jets may land at the Raton Municipal
Airport. |
